Continuous Solution Styrene-butadiene random co-polymers (sSBR)

Continuous Solution Styrene-butadiene random co-polymers (sSBR)

sSBR technology uses Li-alkyls initiated anionic polymerization in aliphatic or cycloaliphatic solvent solution in a cascade of CSTR reactors.

The first reactor is designed in such a way to guarantee a polymerization temperature lower than 80°C obtaining a better distribution of the styrene and a greater “liveness” of the chain ends.

The subsequent reactors operate at a higher temperature to complete the reaction.

It is possible to make a polymer structure modification by addition online of alkyl halides.
